Nautical Cloud Release November 2024 7.6

1. ENHANCMENTS TO CHECKLISTS

Competitors can now upload videos directly to checklists, streamlining documentation and verification. Video uploads are supported in various formats, including PDF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, MP4, AVI, MKV, MOV, WEBM, WMV, and FLV, with file sizes up to 500 MB. Race Officers can enable video uploads via single or multiple file upload options. Checklist approvers can then download and review these videos for enhanced compliance and oversight.

In the checklist designer, Race Officers can now enable the “Use Expiration Date” toggle, allowing checklist approvers to set an expiration date for a checklist. Once the date is passed, the checklist will automatically decline. This feature is ideal for time-sensitive documents, such as insurance certifications, ensuring they remain current.

2. TAGS

Race Officers can now create and manage tags, allowing competitors to label their boats with relevant identifiers. Race Officers have the option to let competitors add their own tags or to manage tags directly.

Tags can be created through the “Tags” menu, where Officers can name the tag and assign a rating authority. They can also assign boats to tags as needed.

When tags are enabled in race details, they are displayed on the entry list with a dedicated “Tags” section on the “Who’s Entered” page, organised by division. Tags are hyperlinked—clicking on a tag within a race entry reveals all other entries sharing the same tag. Additionally, you can select a division to view all tags associated with it.

Competitors can view their boat’s tags in the “Tags” section of their boat details, while Race Officers can manage tags within a specific race or via the Boats menu.

3. INSHORE CLUB PROFILES

We’ve added new customisation options to the Club Profile setup for greater flexibility based on club type. Within Your Setup / Portal Details, a new dropdown menu at the top of the Club Profile page allows you to select between an Inshore Club and an Offshore Club.

If “Inshore Club” is selected:

Specific tabs, including Checklists, Shoreside Contacts, Life Rafts, Personal AIS, and EPIRB, are now hidden to streamline the interface.

Boat information fields, such as Draft, Beam, and Vessel Homeport, have been moved from Extended Details to Boat Details for easier access.

The Extended Information section is now hidden, creating a cleaner layout.

These updates are designed to provide a tailored experience based on club type, enhancing usability and organisation.

4. REGISTRATION OPENING IMPROVEMENTS

We’ve improved both the appearance and functionality of the registration countdown for events. The countdown now features a refreshed, more user-friendly design, making it easier for competitors to track registration deadlines.
Additionally, we’ve made significant improvements to the timing system, addressing previous issues with time zone discrepancies. These updates ensure that competitors can enter races promptly as soon as registration opens, with accurate and reliable timing across all regions.

5. ENTIRE SERIES ENTRY

The Entire Series Entries feature allows organisers to bundle multiple races together, enabling competitors to purchase a package of races in one go for a set price. Within the Race Officer settings, you can configure a price structure, set an entry closing date, and control the publish status for the series.

Additionally, the ‘Credit any fees for individually purchased races’ toggle lets you credit competitors for races they’ve already purchased individually. If this option is enabled, any amount previously paid for an individual race within the series will be deducted from the total cost of the Entire Series. The menu also displays all current entries for easy management.

6. FUND CONTRIBUTION

We have added a new feature that allows clubs to set up a funds contributions page. This feature allows you to add a fund name and description, which will appear on the fund overview page. The overview page displays all contributions made, including the names of contributors—unless the contributions were made anonymously.

Clubs can now enable the option to ‘Use fund contributions at event checkout?’ This allows competitors to make contributions while completing the checkout process for race entries. A preset contribution amount can be configured for quick selection, along with an option for competitors to contribute a custom amount. Additionally, if a club offers membership discounts on races, competitors can choose to allocate their discount toward the fund. Within the fund setup, clubs can add a checkout description to provide competitors with more information about the purpose of the contributions.

7. LINKED NOTICEBOARDS

You name have the capability to mirror another races documents on any race. This can be useful if you have one single set of sailing instructions for multiple races. A noticeboard can be mirrored with the noticeboard race tab by toggling on ‘Use Documents From Another Event’ and selecting a race using the dropdown menu.
